Aspects of the Sensor Display information box are explained in Table 10-7.
Table 10-7. Meaning of Sensor Display information box
Event
If you set an event marker in your data imagery, Isis keeps
track of the marker. The event markers show up as
numbers in the Sensor Display.
Sensors
Mag X, Y, Z: the strength of an object’s magnetism,
measured in three dimensions. Field: the strength of
magnetic field. Gravity: the force of gravity. Aux 1 through
Aux 6: These report incoming data values from your
auxiliary sensors. The values are stated in whatever units
are appropriate for the named sensor you set up in your
Nav template. Refer to Appendix F for information on
setting up a Nav template.
Motion Reference
This is quantitative data expressing how close or far the
sensing body is with respect to its desired straight-line of
travel. Positive values indicate the sensing body is above
or to the right of the desired line of travel. Negative values
indicate the sensing body is below or to the left of the
desired line of travel.
Ship Position
This is conventional navigational data: latitude, longitude,
and gyroscopic heading (reported in degrees), and the
ship’s speed (reported in knots).
CTD Raw Data
These are the current values for the temperature, pressure,
conductivity, and turbidity of water occurring in your data
imagery.
CTD Computed
Data
CTD values derived and calculated from the CTD raw data.
In general, sensor data can include magnetic, gravity or bathymetry data or
other auxiliary parameters sent to Isis via its serial ports, a subject covered
in
Appendix D, ‘Serial Interfaces’, in the Isis User’s Manual, Volume 2.
10.7.5 Towfish Status
Towfish status is used with the SIS-1000 sonar to monitor voltage levels. A
typical example is shown in Figure 10-31.
